 million prizes from word search-style ticket

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, on July 3, A $1 million lottery prize was claimed leaving just two $1 million prizes remaining to be claimed in a word search-style scratch ticket game.

The scratch ticket game, known as “$5,000,000 100X Cashword,” was released on Nov. 24, 2021, and began with 10 prizes worth $1 million available to be claimed. It also began with two $5 million grand prizes; only one has been claimed as of July 3.


The $1 million prize was claimed on Monday, and the ticket was sold at Millbury Liquors store. Each play ticket cost $20. If a player scratches two or more complete words using their letter key, they win a prize starting at $20.

The Massachusetts State Lottery announces a full list of all the winning tickets each day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

The two largest lottery prizes won in the state of Massachusetts in 2023, were $33 million and $31 million Mega Millions jackpot prizes. 

On January 24 drawing, a $33 million ticket was purchased from a Stop & Shop in Belchertown. The winner came forward to claim the prize on March 1 through the Skylark Group Trust.

The $31 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket was won on January 31. The winning ticket was bought in Woburn from a Gibbs gas station, and the winner claimed the prize on March 8 through S & L Trust.
